The American Cancer Society’s West Michigan Select is a highly- exclusive tournament that raises funds for the mission to end cancer, as we know it, for everyone. This event offers a rare chance to experience the unparalleled beauty and challenge of one of Michigan’s most coveted golf courses while making your local impact by ensuring everyone has a fair and just opportunity to prevent, find, treat, and survive a cancer diagnosis.
Cancer touches every one of us in some way. As a longtime supporter of the American Cancer Society, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful our collective efforts can be in driving progress against this disease. Through events like Taste of Hope, grassroots community initiatives, and the work of the West Michigan Volunteer Leadership Council, our community continues to lead with purpose and compassion.
As Chair of the West Michigan Select, it is especially important to me that this event creates a meaningful local impact. I’m proud to share that all contributions made during our mission paddle raise will directly support the Michigan Cancer Research Fund, which invests in innovative, life-saving work led by Michigan-based cancer researchers — including researchers right here in West Michigan.
I invite you to join us on June 4, 2026, at Thornapple Point Golf Club for an exceptional day of golf at this private course while helping advance the fight against cancer. Your participation and support help fund critical research, strengthen our local community, and bring us closer to a future free from cancer.
Thank you for considering being part of this important mission. I look forward to seeing you on the course.
Warm regards,
Zachary Grusell
Chair, West Michigan Select
As the only organization combating cancer through advocacy, discovery, and patient support, the American Cancer Society has made significant contributions to the fight against cancer over the last 110 years. We advocate for lifesaving policy changes, promote healthy lifestyles to help prevent cancer, and provide information, answers, and support to people in every community who have been touched by cancer. We also research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatment.
Yet, there is still work to be done – which is why we are so glad you have joined us tonight! The American Cancer Society continues to work tirelessly to fund research and provide support for all types of cancer. And thanks to your generous support, we work to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Every cancer. Every life.
